Oleguer began his career by playing soccer professionally in his hometown of Sabadell, Spain. In 2002 he played in his first Champions League match with FC Barcelona. Just three years later he aided Barcelona in their victory of La Liga, one of the most respected soccer leagues in the world. Although normally playing a defensive position, Oleguer can also be seen in the midfield.

He is not only a star on the field, but in the community as well. In 2006 Oleguer published his first book describing the hard times of his youth and his success while playing professional soccer.
