The Women Laker’s of Mercyhurst have had a very strong record over the past 5 years. Under Coach Cammidge, the women's team has been one of the top teams in the GLIAC and a regional power. The Lakers won 16 games in 2006, the second-most in school history, and captured their first conference title since 2001. In 2007, Mercyhurst went 15-4-3 and advanced to the NCAA playoffs, shutting out Quincy in a 1-0 opening round victory. The Lakers were eliminated in the second round by No. 1 Grand Valley State, but Mercyhurst pushed the top-ranked team in the country to penalty kicks.
